Nothing To Do This Weekend? Submitted on 28/01/2007 by ?
With no game this weekend as a result of the disaster against Birmingham here’s a puzzler to keep you busy.

There have been 12 Toon players who have played in the Premier League whose name has ended in ‘A’.

Before you try it on……you can not include Shear’a’, Park’a’ or even Shola…. there are 12 without any silly trick ones.

Answers on the message board please.

There didn’t seem to be a great deal of optimism as we set off from the Sporties, but we had a full bus as usual. Passy was obviously feeling guilty after accusing everybody of eating all his Ferrero Rochers and his sandwiches on the Boxing Day Bolton trip. To make amends he had brought a plastic bag full of bacon and sausage and black pudding sarnies.

Steve Bennett is a t*sser. We haven’t won any of the 12 games prior to today in which he has refereed. He’s dropped humongous blunders that has cost us the game: even sent a Toon players off only to see his red card rescindered days later. So it certainly wasn’t a surprise when Defoe scored an offside goal to open the scoring. However his antics couldn’t spoil what turned out to be an amazing away performance.

If you are going to the Brum game next Wed 17th Jan, can you get in touch with Smike by text to confirm you are going, we need to know for size of the coach to book. If you don’t get in touch you will not be guaranteed a place on the bus.

Embarrassed over a Court appearance or have they just been to the Magistrates to pay off a fine instalment?

It looks like one or the other, but if you look closely all’s not as it seems………..

Our final fixture of 2006 saw cracks appearing at an alarming rate all over the field on a day when simply nothing went right for United and we suffered our worst reverse of Roeder's regime.

Garlic? Bread??
A fairly quiet bus pulled into the Reebok Stadium car-park at 2.30pm on Boxing Day, after another detour and delayed arrival caused by the lack of Sat Nav in Guff’s buses (a road atlas later than 1999 would help).

Happy Days Are Here Again.....

A New Year's Day trip to Sherburn set the tone for a raucous day out for the Carrville Mags. An early start in Sherburn WMC to spread the Gospel to the uninitiated, and to have a few beers for good measure - just what's need to dust off the cobwebs and welcome in the New Year in style.

The decisive goal came as a result of a flukey scuff from sub Andriy Shevchenko whose mis-hit fell to our new nemesis, Didier Drogba to turn the ball in from close range at the Matthew Harding end on 74 mins.
