Band Practise? Band Practice! Submitted on 28/01/2008 by ?
Yes, Saturday’s cup exit was hardly unpredictable (Newcastle were 10/1 on some betting sites) but surely a chance for a few pints on a Saturday afternoon watching the game must have some appeal?

MLC’s next fcuking gig is in April, for fcuk’s sake!

If this no-show is repeated on Tuesday night then we are in serious danger of being overruled my Mackems in the Sporties. Their home game against Birmingham is live on Sky, whilst our next defeat to Arsenal is on one of the Scandinavian satellite channels – with English commentary.
Watch the match, have a laugh, take the pi$$ - IT’S YOUR DUTY.

Next Sunday’s game against the Smogs is a 1.30pm kick off, so bus leaves at 12.00. Sporties should be open early – check message board for confirmation. And no more of this Keegan wonderland shite either – the whole country’s taking the pi$$. The Smogs yesterday and the Mancs today give him some stick. Let’s hope he realises that the real pressure starts next Sunday.

(There is often confusion over the words "practice" and "practise". In order to understand which to use, you must know the difference between a noun and a verb. This is because "practice" is a noun; whereas, "practise" is a verb.)

Keegan Is Our King!
Even by The Toon’s standards the way the press have taken hold of the Keegan story has been nothing short of amazing.

Keegan Wonderland!
Michael Owen scored his first goal since 7TH October and, with it, Newcastle's first of 2008. That was followed by three more, including Damien Duff's first as a Newcastle player at St James' Park. Stoke City could not cope with Newcastle's movement, even with 10 men.

I was lucky enough to be offered corporate hospitality for this one and had a cracking day. As usual the fun stopped when the football started.

Dear Fellow Supporters Submitted on 18/01/2008 by ?
Owing to an increase in the bus cost for home matches please be advised that all fares are to be raised by £1.00 starting with the Bolton game on Saturday 19th January 2008.

Our membership of 37 plus 13 senior/juniors, assuming they all turn up, only produces £174, the bus costs £175, last season it was £135. The average of members travelling on the bus this season is only 37 plus a few non-members whose fares offset some of the loss.
Members’ fares at the increased rate are still £2.75 to £3 cheaper than the current bus and rail fares and there is no inconvenience travelling on our bus. *

Members did, at the start of the season, pay a subscription of £10 and £5 for senior/juniors please bear in mind this payment was to guarantee as seat on the bus and enjoy the convenience of direct travel at an economic fare hence the increase. Please also remember this bus which has been, at times, heavily subsidised is provided for all home cup matches.
* Apology from Blakey…... …

Sorry for the inconvenience caused by last night’s disastrous decision to pick-up outside the ground, and then spend 30 minutes looking for traffic jams to join.

Another 3 Points Lost
The night before last I dreamt The Toon played the whole game against Man City without any tops on, bare buff, skins, whatever you want to call it. The reason for this was that Eric and Kirky had broken into the dressing room and nicked all of the black & white tops and, as the sky blue away strip clashed with Man City’s colours, the referee ordered The Toon to play in skins!

So we lost 1-0 to Wigan on Boxing Day. Sound familiar? Should have expected it really! On all of our 4 visits to The JJB Stadium we’ve lost 1-0, and we haven’t won an away fixture on Boxing Day since 1988!!
