Lads, I sent a text around this morning to let many of you know that JT died in the early hours of 23rd Nov. I hadnít realised how many of you knew him and in retrospect I should have sent the message to more of you. So sorry if those of you who would have liked to hear sooner didnít get to hear straight away and to put that right and make sure everyone who knew him knows, I hope you donít mind that Iíve picked out a few pictures of a totally top toon fan.

He was diagnosed with lung cancer with much metastasis in September and some limited radiotherapy did nothing to address the disease. He became very ill over the last couple of weeks. Some of us saw him at the Man Utd home league game and realised the extent of his illness. He was very poorly then and it seemed at the time that he made the effort to get to the game as he thought it could be his last match for some time. And he went to Shearerís in the 2nd half to see Sean.

There are some immense stories to relay from our match goings-on and others from his sessions in the THT and the Tory Party conference. He was brilliant at Sidís funeral and thatís probably where a few more got to know him when the cold-shelf was cleared of brown ale twice. Edwina Currie was once subject to his NBA enhanced charm but she resisted JT in favour of prime minister, John Major. His 50th birthday night in Newcastle will also live long in the memory.....

He will be greatly missed. Brilliant company, great bloke, good friend, Toon fan.

Itís been a week to forget at SJP, two winnable games on paper have resulted in zero points and although we were poor against Swansea we were nowhere near as poor as we were against the Footballing antichrist that is a Sam Allardyce team the Sunday before.

As far as other teams go I quite like West Brom, they play good football and have decent support and one of their lot phoned the AA for me the day I locked my keys in the car down there.....
