|The attendance was 35,141 - around 4,000 travelling fans including England bowler Steve Harmison. New boy chants were mostly of the "Oba, Obefam, Obafemi Martins" variety, but we did like "He's 21, he's 28, Obafemi Martins". Song of the day had to be: Toon fans in the second half, "empty seats here, empty seats there...." accompanied by much pointing at home sections.
We were one down after 3 mins. More or less a straight re-run of the goal we conceded to Wigan last week - for McCulloch read Moore and Given's first touch was to pick the ball out of his net.
Then on 38 mins, Agbonlahor exploited poor covering by our defence to advance towards the box and slip a forward pass into the feet of the on-rushing Angel. The Columbian striker netted with a low angled shot as Titus followed the ball into the empty net. Angel's celebrations were somewhat wrecked by his running towards the away fans in the Doug Ellis stand - despite rumours some weeks ago, we never actually signed him.
Martins was stretchered off with what turned out to be a dead leg.
Final score 0-2.
