Some of the regulars missed today’s game due to Trapper’s (lack of) organisational skills!! He’s got the whole summer to book Emma’s christening – and he chooses the day we play Chelsea at home!! To be fair, in his defence, he did try his utmost to avoid the Reading away weekend and this game was switched to the Sunday by Sky at relatively short notice. Anyway, the way we’ve been playing lately, it was the perfect excuse for some not to go.

The crowd of 52,056 included the England boss Steve McClaren and 2,000 Chelsea fans - they didn't want any more tickets and didn't even fill all those places. (Champions?)

Chelsea looked like we did last week - knackered. But we took a point off them - that's all - and moved one game nearer to the end of this season. Like the Arsenal and Man United draws, these are little victories. Kieron Dyer and substitute Andy Carroll both had second half chances to claim all three points. But, our opponents walked off the field knowing that they still have a chance of adding the title, the Champions League and the FA Cup to the League Cup in their trophy cabinet. Neither 'keeper was over-worked, with Harper less under pressure overall.

Those at the Christening missed nowt. Turns out they had a great day and ended up in The Sporties for the second half.
