Down and gout?
A match report isn’t necessary as you were either there or you watched it on Setanta.

Greavsie did the latter. He subscribed when he was immobilised by the return of his gout – this time worse than before. He’s been on crutches all week.

But at least the week off gave him time for contemplation - and he’s done the decent thing and returned Davey Endean’s missing Bolton programme - meaning that Kirky is now proven innocent. However he didn’t take advice and pay for his Setanta subscription by betting on Man Utd. If he had then it would have been free money.
The Mancs were 1-6 or 5-4 half time / full time with Ladbrokes. This is how far we have sunk. But the usual optimists (Sid, Sean, and Smike) were confident of a victory. Pre-match followed the usual routine. Some started in The Bridge and got the train through. As a result there were plenty of seats on the bus. Studs was still in Blakey’s bad books over the missing bus tickets from the Bolton game. George turned out dressed-up for St Patrick’s Day. (March 15th this year instead of the usual March 17th).
By half-time reality set it, and when they scored the 3rd goal there was a significant exodus to The Strawberry. It was packed – Carrville Mags making up a significant proportion of the disillusioned beer chasers. Scouse asked for a refund on his bargain East Stand ticket. Everyone just seemed intent on getting pi$$ed. If ever a match was just an excuse to go on the lash, then this was it.
