43,904 Roar on The Toon.
Ameobi made it four goals in two games as he hit the winner to defeat Sheffield Wednesday in what was not as good a performance as Saturday: The Owls were always going to provide sterner opposition than Reading. Indeed, Harper had to be at his best to deny Jeffers as Wednesday had a good spell in the second half. There were some very good performances again tonight, Stephen Taylor got a rousing reception and I'll be gutted if we sell him when we've still got the likes of Geremi on the books.

After 15 mins Steve Harper's long ball was flicked on by Andy Carroll for Ameobi to hit a low angled shot under Wednesday's Goalkeeper and into into the Gallowgate end goal. That was enough to give The Toon the three points and take us to 3rd in the league.

There's no reason why we can't continue our unbeaten run at Selhurst Park on Saturday, I'll take a point!

It's well worth noting that tonight's attendance of 43,904 was 2,725 more than sunlun had for their 'Big League' game last night against Chelsea.

Unbelievable?
